The Ashburn Farm 10K race held on Thanksgiving morning November 26th. All proceeds for the race go directly to HUMBLE School in Uganda helping to educate and provide Christian shelter for the children. Servants in this mission will be supporting the precious children at HUMBLE United Methodist School by helping to prepare for, facilitate and clean up after this great race. Servants needed in the following areas:

Packet Prep Sunday, November 22nd Stuff racer packets. Servants needed: 10 if youth group participates

Food Preparation Responsible for preparing the food for racers. Help needed Wednesday evening at 6:30PM and Thursday morning at 7:30 AM. Servants needed: Wednesday 6 - 8 Thursday 8 - 10

Wednesday Course Set-up Miscellaneous race course prep work. Help needed throughout the day from 9am - 4 pm. Servants needed: 8-10

Wednesday night registration Assist with registration, hand out race packets, bib numbers, and T-shirts. Work a shift between 2:00 – 8:00 PM. Servants needed: 20 total, 5 - 6 per shift

Wednesday night Bead and Treasure Sales Staff table selling jewels made by kids at HUMBLE School, Work a shift between 2:00 - 8:00 PM. Servants needed: 2 per shift

Thursday Course Set-up & Clean-up Distribute cones and set up signs along the race course at approximately 5 AM race day. Clean up entails picking up all materials after the race at approximately 10AM. Servants needed: 18-20

Floaters/Greeters Welcome runners and get them pointed in the right direction. Start at 6:45am. Servants needed: 5-6

Race Day Registration Assist with registration, hand out race packets, bib numbers, and T-shirts. 6:45-8:00 AM Thursday. Servants needed: 22

Data Entry Enter mail in or walk in registration information into Run Score database. Wednesday 2- 8pm or Thursday 6:45 - 8am Servants needed: Wednesday - 1 on duty at all times, shifts of one to two hours Thursday 2 - 3

Course Marshal Controls and directs auto traffic during the race. One hour training required every 2 years. Volunteer must be certified and at least 16 years old. Training provided by Crossroads UMC. MANDATORY MEETING PRIOR TO RACE DAY Race day report at 7:30 AM in Sanctuary. Servants needed: 30

Course Sentry Directs runners on 2K fun run trail. Youth under the age of 16 are allowed; no certification required. Race day report at 7:30 AM in Sanctuary. Servants needed: 6

Water Stop Set up table, prepare water in cups. (Table and water will be delivered to 5K marker site or the 10K finish line. Mantain the water table at either the 5K marker or at 10K finish line. Fill water cups and hand to runners. Arrive by 8:00 AM. Servants needed: 7-8

Timers Stand at mile markers on race course. Using stopwatch, call out elapsed times. Meet at 7:45 AM in sanctuary. Servants needed: 7

Photographers Help record the day during registration, on the course and at the finish lines. Arrivals can be staggered. Registration starts at 6:45am, races start at 8:15 (10K), 8:25 (5K) and 8:35 (fun run) Servants needed - open opportunities

Finish Line Assist Finish Line Manager team at finish line with removing bib tags and putting on stringers, operate timing devices at finish line, control traffic flow in finish line chutes, and deliver bib stringers to scoring table at church. Training prior to race day (date TBD) Servants needed: 20

Clean Up Responsible for returning the church and church grounds to pre-race condition. Arrive at 10:00AM. Servants needed 15-20 (the more the better)
