Worship Servant -- We strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere for all who come to worship with us. We are looking for people to help make this happen. We have opportunities for those who have a passion for meeting and welcoming people as well as those who prefer to work behind the scenes. Partnership (Membership) -- Many have found that a greater understanding and commitment to Christ's church as embodied at 43454 Crossroads Drive is a rewarding step to take. It's called Partnership and it's our form of membership. Here's your chance to "officially" make Crossroads your home. The next Partnership Seminar will be in the early fall. Circles of CARE -- Call, Accountability, Reflection and Engagement form the structure for our primary and on going way of being church here at Crossroads Build lasting relationships with others and strengthen your own personal connection with Christ through these small groups on the journey inward, together and outward. Franklin Square Food & Fellowship with DC's Homeless -- Meet others at 10:30am on July 19th to serve lunch and be in fellowship with our homeless brothers and sisters. Sign-up to donate food on the poster in the hallway leading to the Fellowship Hall. One of the best ways to help if you can't travel into the city with us is to make sandwiches for the homeless and you can do that from your own home. Grace Ministry -- Share your time, clothing and food with our friends and neighbors in Christ. No household goods, please. Friday and Saturday, July 17th and June 18th. We are always looking for good condition seasonal clothing, especially in men's sizes XL and XXL. There are many ways in which you can serve this mission whether it be from helping with the set-up on Friday evenings, assisting with registration on Saturday mornings (especially if you can speak Spanish), and helping with distribution. Furniture Ministries -- Do you have any used furniture or appliances that you would like to donate? Our Furniture Ministries is now accepting furniture and appliances that are clean and in good working condition to go to local families in need. We will accept anything from couches and beds to baby items and big screen TVs. We will even pick up your item for you and deliver it. Spanish as a Second Language (SSL) -- Crossroads Latino will be offering an intro program in Spanish this summer to children and adults. This program will operate much like our current ESL program and participants will learn to read, write, and speak Spanish. The program runs from July 7th to July 30th as introduction classes to determine your current language level before fall semester classes begin. The intro classes will meet 3 times a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) either in the morning from 9am until 10:30am for children and youth (1st Grade through 12th Grade) or the evening from 7pm to 9pm for adults. 5th Grade Crossover Experience -- Every year, we offer a Crossover Experience for 5th Graders and their parents to celebrate the completion of the elementary school years, and to prepare families for middle school and our Youth Group. The experience this year involves an overnighter at Camp Highroad! Parents and kids will lodge together, choose either to do the zip line or canoe, enjoy a bonfire, meet Chris Wimmer our youth group leader, and share discussion about faith and transitions. Our Crossover experience will be offered on August 29th-30th. Cost is $35 per family member, $15 per person for the zip line or canoe (Crossroads will cover the cost of the zip line or canoe for the students). Life with God Summer Retreats -- Rolling Ridge Retreat Center and Camp Highroad will be the setting for our Summer Retreats. The retreats will include three sessions of teaching and learning around the spiritual practices of Scripture meditation, story, silence, and solitude. MOPS Registration -- MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is an international organization for all moms of infants to kindergarteners, providing an opportunity to meet other moms and make the journey of motherhood together.
