Journey Foundations – This core experience will refresh your relationship with God and launch you on your faith journey with Jesus Christ at Crossroads. Journey Foundations is a prerequisite for Family Baptism, Adult Baptism, and Partnership or may be taken as a stand-alone class for personal spiritual growth. HAPPENING THIS WEEK! Family Baptism – This learning experience celebrates the gift of your child as God’s Beloved and equips your family with the biblical foundations to make your home a faith-forming center. The class meets on Sunday, May 18th from 10:45am to 1pm. Childcare is provided at all sessions. Baptism Celebration is June 8, at 9 or 11am. For more info contact Judy Wiles or register online. Partnership at Crossroads -- Many have found that a greater understanding and commitment to Christ’s church as embodied at 43454 Crossroads Drive is a rewarding step to take. It’s called Partnership and it’s our form of membership. Here’s your chance to “officially” make Crossroads your home. The class meets on Sunday, June 1st from 1-4pm. Circles of CARE -- Call, Accountability, Reflection and Engagement form the structure for our primary and on going way of being church as small groups on the journey inward, together and outward. Circles meet in homes and study the weekly Bible message, pray together and create lasting friendships with other Christians so that Christ may be more fully formed in our daily lives, families, community and world. Franklin Square Food & Fellowship with DC’s Homeless -- Meet others at 10:30am on every 1st and 3rd Sundays to serve lunch and be in fellowship with our homeless brothers and sisters. Our next weekend to participate is May 18th. For more information contact DC Missions
NEW! Jamaica Mission Trip -- In 2006, our Crossroads community began a relationship, then a partnership, with people in Jamaica. We started with building a commercial kitchen in a school and have persevered through many challenges to where we are about to complete the project. Praise God! We have been invited to assist in the final stages to finish the work which includes painting and installing cabinetry. Because the final approvals and funding were just completed we are working on a tight timeframe. We hope to send a team for a week in early June to make this a reality. If you feel the calling to join this team, to work and/or build relationships in this country, please contact Al Buskirk ASAP to sign-up.
Reach Work Camp for Youth -- This week-long experience is a meaningful and fun way to spend time with other youth from around the region while being the hands and feet of Jesus to real people in important ways... right where they live! This year’s mission -- repairing the homes and hopes of those living in poverty -- happens in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, near Akron. Travel with your Crossroads friends by charter bus, departing July 6th and returning July 12th. Cost: $550 per person, includes accommodations, local construction supplies for Reach, travel and meals. Female Adult sponsors are needed! Humble United Methodist School - Travel with us to Uganda, East Africa from July 10th through the 25th to fellowship, learn and worship with the children of HUMS as well as work on inside finishing of the HUMS Clinic. Contact Jen Score for more info and to sign-up to go this year.
Hope for the Children Choir - This amazing children’s choir from Uganda will be visiting with Crossroads from July 3rd through July 8th. We are currently looking for about 9 host families that can welcome two same sex children and one same sex adult into their homes for those few days while the choir is visiting with us. If you are interested in hosting choir members please contact our Uganda Missions
