If you are experiencing pain -- emotionally, spiritually or physically -- our Care Pastors are there to be the presence of Jesus for you. Care Pastors are trained members of the Crossroads family who provide prayer, a listening ear, a hospital visit, a friend`s touch, an encouraging card, or a meal in times of crisis and more. Tammie Bond serves as Director of Care Ministries.

PRAYER
Care pastors are available to pray with you after all weekend services and monthly healing services. Prayer request from the worship times or from online or other submissions (see link at right) are prayed over by the prayer team each Wednesday. These requests are the needs concerns and joys of our community.
The Ryan Chapel located at the Crossroads campus is open during most days from 9am to 4pm and some evenings for prayer. We invite you to come and spend quite time with God.
In addition, a contemplative experienced called Prayer of Body and Soul is offered weekly at 9-9:25am Thursdays at the church. This is a time of stretching and body prayer focused on the Fruit of the Spirit, followed by scripture reading, centering prayer in silence, and intercessory prayer and ending with the Lord's Prayer. Please call Tammie Bond, Director of Care Ministries, at 703-729-5100, Ext. 123, if you are interested.
Prayer is a heart-to-heart conversation with God. It is our primary means of communicating with God. In its simplest forms, prayer is still a rich dialogue of emotions and evolving thoughts and questions and answers between us and our Creator. Prayer can be personal, corporate (in community with others), intercessory (for others), confessional, praise, silent, spoken, danced and sung. There is no limit to how we are with God in prayer. We can read prayers. We can meditate on a few special words from scripture. We can be creative and allow our hearts and thoughts to be communicated with a spontaneous flow. No matter how we pray, God loves us to be in relationship with Him always and in every way so that He can continue to unveil His love and glory to us.
ANOINTING
Give God a minute of your time to experience this blessing, steeped in rich biblical practice and history. The practice of anointing with perfumed oil was common among the Hebrews. The act of anointing was significant of consecration to a holy or sacred use. Prophets were anointed. Anointing was also an act of hospitality and was a means of refreshing or invigorating the bodies.
Care Pastors are available to provide an anointing and blessing to you either after communion or at the Healing Prayer Service each month. Anointing is ideal for people who might face various life issues in which you would seek the Holy Spirit's wisdom, guidance, healing, protection or blessing. In fact, oil is a biblical symbol of the Holy Spirit. However, the anointing oil itself has no power. The person being anointed with the oil is submitting to the work of the Holy Spirit in his or her life. It’s a personal way of acknowledging and receiving God’s blessing and gift.
MEALS OF CARE
If you or someone you know need a meal because of life situations, please contact the Meals of Care Team.
HEALING PRAYER
A unique Healing Prayer Service is held monthly -- on the third Tuesday at 7:30pm -- with childcare provided. This hour is an opportunity to be still with God. It is a holy time. Low lighting, lit candles, soothing music and scripture reading set a calming atmosphere for prayer and contemplation. Those who are gathered are gently guided through prayer and healing meditation. This is a time of letting go of those things that keep us from the love of God and a time of cleansing and spiritual refreshment. It is in this time of silence that we can release our deepest pain into the healing arms of Jesus and experience new life.
The service is completed with the opportunity to share in communion and receive the healing blessing of annointment. Care Pastors are available after the service to pray with you for individual concerns.
We invite you to come to deepen your relationship with God, bring your pain for Jesus to heal or just to experience the gift of time carved out of your busy day just for you.
COUNSELING
Counseling at Crossroads is deeply part of the healing pathway as psychology and spiritual direction are blended. Christian Counseling is available at the Crossroads Campus by appointment (for individuals, couples and families).
The healing journey will sometimes involve what we call a journey inward to reflection and understand how your family story and unique life circumstances affect the relationships that you have with God and others. We believe that counseling and spiritual direction are a wonderful gift to people as they encounter the expected struggles of life. Crossroads hosts three counselors with Christian foundations as listed below.

GENERATIONAL HEALING
Find out how many of our attitudes, physical and mental health issues, family "curses"and "bad luck" that we see handed down from generation to generation are really the manifestations of a spiritual battle that keeps us from the joy and love of God. Learn how these bonds can be broken through healing prayer and the intervention of the Holy Spirit.
The Generational Healing Workshop is held twice a year.
